1. The Carnivorous Plant Got A New Friend In Its Jar
This person wasn't expecting anything else to grow inside the jar except for their carnivorous plant. However, the sneaky mold had other plans. After all, mold loves humid areas more than anything else in the world.
The person who took this photo wanted answers. Well, it is a brainless organism called "slime mold." It looks like a mini gateway from Stranger Things.
2. Privacy Is So Overrated
We think it is sheer torture to use public restrooms already, and this strange door would only worsen matters. We already had a problem with the large gaps in the door, and it seems they are making the doors smaller now.
Someone came up with a door design that purposefully makes users feel uncomfortable, so they don't make messes in the bathroom and do their business as quickly as possible. So, what is the following plan: Build cars without fuel caps so they can't drive and don't destroy the environment?
3. Not An Alien Head
You can find many mysterious objects and creatures in the ocean. So, when someone came across this gelatinous, weird-looking object, they held it in their hand like a trophy without any safety concerns and asked the internet for answers.
The person later found out that he was holding onto something very toxic. This is a part of Portuguese man o' war, aka floating terror, which looks a lot like an ordinary jellyfish. Just a sting from this creature can paralyze or be fatal to a human.
4. Not Tiny Flag Holders
From weird bumper stickers to strange objects, you can find all sorts of things on cars. Someone even had a bumper sticker that said, "I hate bumper stickers." Here, the vehicle has two sprouting antennas above the headlights. That is odd, but there's a reason why someone placed them there.
The antennas are guides for novice drivers to let them know where the front corners of the hood are to help them learn how to parallel park better.
5. Was This The Original Google Glass?
Technology from the past seems hilarious, awkward, and clunky to the people of the 21st century. Take this picture, for example; whatever he is wearing on his glasses was something he thought would be a big hit.
Well, the smug face of the investor is giving us strange vibes. It is no wonder why it was lost in time. This piece of technology looks a lot like Google Glass. MicroOptics created this eyewear in 2001 in hopes that it would catch on over time. However, like Google Glass, it was a flop.
6. Pranking A Junkie Like A Boss
This photo teaches us a valuable lesson: If you find any type of medicine in the forest, leave it alone. However, someone was curious enough to open the bottle with a series of wires and a chip in it.
Well, it is a tracking device that is put into medicine to locate thieves. Someone stole the bottle and became a victim of an elaborate prank.
7. Why Do These Nuns Have A Circle With A Purple Dot On Their Heads?
At first glance, it looks as if these nuns are part of the bus seats, but then you notice the unique headdress. The bus passenger was curious to know why the nuns were wearing circles with purple dots.
Someone on the internet finally provided an answer. The nuns were wearing the Crown of the Five Holy Wounds. All nuns of the Bridgettine order wear these circlets. We seriously thought they were part of the seat.
8. Dragons Do Exist
There are close to a million species of bugs globally, and most of them look super gross. But this one takes the cake.
This dragon-like creature is a Sphinx moth caterpillar (also known as a hawkmoth). Even as an adult, it does not look good at all.
9. Do You Need Any Other Proof That Alien Exist?
If you think there's no way aliens were involved in an abduction in the picture, you are crazy. No sane person can deny that a mysterious purple glow is a sign of alien spaceships. We dare you to prove us wrong.
Now don't say that these lights were coming from a greenhouse. At least that's what one commenter wrote, but we don't believe it. Maybe that person on the internet got paid to cover alien tracks.
10. A Miniature Flask For A Miniature Person
Who knows there might be tiny people with tiny flasks. Our wild guess is that a tiny person out there is desperately looking for their alcohol container. At least that's what we thought before we found the real answer.
In reality, it is a perfume flask and the needle enables a person to dab a bit of perfume on their neck. It is usually worn around someone's neck as a pendant.
11. All That Glitters Is Not Gold
If rocks and minerals excite you, you would’ve instantly recognized what this person is holding. To others, it looks like gold. The rock in the photo is pyrite, also known as fool's gold.
Besides making people think that they found gold, this mineral is used to create iron sulfate that is later used to make ink, moss killer, nutritional supplements, and other chemical processes.
12. Looks More Like An Extremely Elegant Gyroscope
We can argue all day long that it looks like a gyroscope or a weapon from the Bronze Age. The spine-like handle makes us think that a mighty warrior used this weapon to slay their enemies.
However, we were shocked to discover that this apparatus is a table cigar lighter. The fuel goes into the ball, and the protruding point holds onto a flame. This fire starter was all the rage back in the 1970s.
13. Adventure Quest: Coat Of Arms Edition
The person who posted this photo met an older man in Germany who sent him these little coats of arms and told him to visit each location before he dies. So, he asked the internet about them and got the answer. These are walking stick medallions, something like bumper stickers of popular tourist spots.
We have to admit that these walking stick medallions are much more awesome than bumper stickers or other souvenirs.
14. Another UFO Sighting...
Someone was hiking in Manchester when they found a huge smoke ring that looked like a UFO. Maybe someone was smoking a huge cigarette down there and made smoke rings.
The real explanation behind this weird-looking ring is somewhat worrisome. It was there because of an exploding transformer – not the ones from the film series Transformers!
15. What A Catch!
If you go fishing with your buddies and catch something that looks like a creature from another world, throw it back into the ocean. The person who caught it had no idea what this rope-like creature was and asked the internet for answers.
Luckily, one commenter immediately identified the creature as a crinoid. It is a close relative of the starfish and sea urchins, which means it is not dangerous.
16. Looks More Like A Magic Spell
What would be your reaction if you found a piece of charred paper on the car? You might think someone is trying to hurt you with magic. When this person found pine needles and burnt paper, they immediately asked the internet.
However, there was nothing to worry about because a Wiccan, a follower of pagan religion, did it to ward off evil spirits. So, this person should be a bit relaxed knowing that someone is looking out for them.
17. An Apple A Day... Increases Your Internet Stay
We all are familiar with the well-known saying, "an apple a day keeps the doctor away." There was no need for the doctor when someone found this apple in East Germany and wanted the internet to help.
These are the eggs of a lacewing, a net-winged insect that feeds on nectar and fruits. Now you know why they say wash an apple before eating it.
18. Snake Snack Found In Georgia
Some questions are better left unanswered. For instance, can you call cereal a soup? We think it would be best to ignore what this person asked because it will probably give you nightmares. He found an array of eggs hanging from a tree and wanted some answers.
Well, it is the uterine lining of an unfortunate snake. It seems a bird caught a pregnant snake, and as it started to eat it, the bird flew away with the snake and left its uterine lining behind because the eggs weighed it down. This is scary stuff.
19. Not A Garrote
This seems like a garrote wire, but that is far from reality. Fans of The Godfather know pretty well what a garrote wire is and how it is used. It was the favorite weapon of mafia assassins in the movie.
One commenter on the internet answered that this apparatus is a wire saw, which lumberjacks use to saw down thin branches and trees.
20. A Voodoo Doll For Ants?
In TV shows and movies, we have seen how these voodoo dolls are used, but this super small voodoo doll must be for an incredibly short person. One commenter pointed out that there's nothing to worry about because it is a worry doll that supposedly takes a person's worries away while they sleep.
Hmm, we don't know how it works. Do you think it is worth a try, given how 2021 has been going so far?
21. Don't Mess With It
After finding this gooey mess near the pond, the person decided to be cautious and not touch it. They turned to the internet for more information and found out what it was. The answer was quite surprising.
According to one commenter, it was the swim bladder of a fish. The bladder is inflated or deflated by the fish to control buoyancy. We don't know why the swim bladder is not in the belly of that unfortunate fish, but it's easy to assume the rest of the fish is inside a bigger fish.
22. It's A Miracle!
If you still have a grandfather clock somewhere in the house, there's a possibility you might find the text "Miracle Eye" and a switch. Most of you don't know the purpose of that switch.
The truth behind the switch is that it turns on the clock's light sensors, making the clock chime every hour in the presence of light. Turning off the switch means the clock won't wake you up every hour at nighttime.
23. When People Say "Take The High Road"
There's a legend that if you find a staircase in the forest that leads to nowhere, never touch it, or it could lead to horrible consequences. It would be best not to test your luck.
However, one commenter on the internet pointed out that this staircase means there's a hunter's post on that tree. The stairs help the hunters get to the first hooks set on the tree that lead them up to their post or treehouse campsite.
24. They Nailed It
We don't know why any company would put numbers on the nails, or maybe there is a secret organization that uses these numbers to keep the world running.
At least that's what we thought before a commenter pointed out that Sears sold these nails as a part of an old kit. The numbers on the nails' heads helped the DIY builder hammer the nails in the right position.
25. Don't Go Nuts Over This Device
This is a single-purpose kitchen gadget that appears to serve no purpose other than to make your child think that he/she is playing a video game.
This spring-like device is an old-fashion – wait for it – a nutcracker. All you have to do is place a walnut in the middle and pull the knob upward and release.
26. Weird Is Cool
These mysterious lines on the road look more like a running track. The person who uploaded the photo was curious to know why someone would intentionally draw these lines. The internet provided some answers.
These lines are made of salt and laid down by a truck. The purpose of these lines is to prevent roads from becoming slippery during winter.
27. These Are Some Weird-Looking Nuts
Someone received these weird-looking nuts through the mail, despite not placing such an order. It was shocking because their name and address were written on the box, so it wasn't the mailman's mistake.
It turns out that online retailers, mostly from abroad, run a brushing scam in which they leave positive reviews for their low-quality products by using people's names. They simply send lightweight objects through the mail, and the e-retail platform verifies the transaction. It convinces other people that the product is excellent and authentic.
28. Here's A Hint: You Can Eat It
This moldy sponge is what one internet user got as a gift from a friend who came back from China. Instead of eating it without any concerns, they asked the internet for confirmation.
It is actually a red sugar stone, which is a common sweet in China. We're not sure about the green growth on it, but it looks yummy.
29. We Just Became FAN of This Photo
Okay, the dining room table looks super stunning, right? But let's not get too carried away. We have to focus on the main object in this photo.
Yeah, that's an ancient ceiling fan. There is a rope attached to it that is pulled to make the fan swing back and forth.
30. Not Fake Money For A Monopoly Game
We saw the photo and immediately thought that it could not be true because Japan's currency is Yen and not pesos. During Japan's occupation of the Philippines in WW2, they had to print pesos for them. That explains it all.
Someone must have had many sleepless nights wondering why the Japanese government would go on to print pesos.
31. Where's The Tiny Driver For The Tiny Truck?
People think robots will take over the world. Meanwhile, they are trying to win our hearts. How cute, right? For example, this thing is delivering food to customers.
Maybe Stark Industries has something to do with it. We know what you are thinking. Do you want to know how you open these robots to steal the food? We are thinking the same.
32. Because Fossils Are Cool
When it comes to finding fossilized remains, it is not all that difficult. You'll often need to do some cracking or digging, but there are instances when the fossils are in plain sight. The person who took the photo thought that they found the exoskeleton of an extinct beast. We thought it looked like beef jerky.
Experts quickly pointed out that it is fossilized remains of horsetail calamities, a tree species that became extinct around 250 to 360 million years ago.
33. Concrete Proof Of Alien Existence
If you don't believe in the existence of aliens, this is something that will change your mind. Why would someone put weird lamp posts with over 100 lights – we tried counting lights on the first lamppost and gave up halfway.
One internet user (an alien in human disguise) pointed out that it is a radio station in Calgary, Alberta. We are not falling for this trickery.
34. Drink Wisely
At first glance, you can't tell what this is. You can play the guessing game all day long, but we don't think you'll get it right. Have you noticed there is a hole at the bottom of the tower? Well, this is a cup with an odd tower in the middle. It is a Pythagoras cup that automatically drains the contents if you pour too much wine into it.
What it means is that Pythagoras used physics and math to troll people who used to pour more wine into their glasses than necessary.
35. Band-Aid Nightmare
As far as we know, Band-Aids keep wounds dry and clean. But what would be your reaction after finding something gross growing on a Band-Aid?
One commenter pointed out that it could be due to moisture on the adhesive or cake sprinkles. We'd go with the second one.
36. Spiders Have Evolved A Bit Too Much!
Although we are against animal cruelty, we think that there are times when you have to take out the flamethrower. This demonic-looking creature is a male creatonotos gangis moth. At first glance, it looks like a spider or some creature from another world.
Those things that look like horns are scent glands, which the male moth uses to attract female creatonotos gangis. Oh boy, this stuff makes us want to take a break from the internet for at least two or three years.
37. Let Them BEE
There's nothing worse than a hive of hostile bees because they attack without any fear when they feel threatened. And yet someone went close to the beehive to take a photo and ask the internet about it.
Well, these honeybees are collecting pollen for their beehive. Although they don't appear to be hostile, it would be best not to take a risk.
38. Looks Like Someone Found A Demon Skull On The Beach
Someone found this skull and asked the internet about it. Let us help you stop guessing. It is the skull of a tuna fish.
If you think that it is easy looking at the skeleton alone and telling what animal it is, you have to Google the baboon's skull.
39. Throw It Back... Into The Fire
Someone found this piece of rock-like material that looks like it has tubeworms in it. The internet was divided on deciding what it was because it looks like a fossilized coral or a tubeworm cluster.
As experts in the field, we're going with an obvious guess: aliens. If you think we don't know anything about it, you're just living in the dark.
40. Looks Like A Torture Device
At first, we thought someone was interested in creating a medieval torture device. Why would someone take a piece of wood, cutting board, and leather strap with a nail in it? Apparently, this tool is a ham holder that makes it easier to keep the ham in place.
As we haven't seen it before, our guess is that maybe the design never really took off. If that is the case, we can see why.
41. Do You NEEDLE a Burger Now?
If you're a fan of McDonald's, it would be best to skip this photo. After all, someone found this needle at a McDonald's in Lexington, KY.
Luckily, the person eating the burger didn't swallow this needle used to inject insulin in diabetes patients.
42. Can You Use It To Scratch Your Back?
Wow, you learn something new every day. They have tools for everything. The person who uploaded the photo thought they found an old piece of weaponry.
It turned out that this tool is a carpet stretcher. According to the patent, the cup is supposed to hold tacks.
43. More Than A Rat Problem
If you have pest problems at home, you may think this photo is terrifying. Well, we used rat in the photo's title because what you are about to know is scary. The person who uploaded the photo found it near the toaster and thought it was some cockroach molt.
In reality, it was an old rattlesnake rattle. Maybe the highly venomous snake got into the home and shed its skin near the toaster. We don't know how it got there. Maybe a rat brought it inside the home.
44. We Wouldn't Touch It Even With A Stick
Someone found this in their car and didn't run. Instead, they took a picture of it. This is a photo of a spiny oak-slug caterpillar covered in eggs of a parasitic Braconid Wasp.
The sad part is that the Poor caterpillar carries the eggs around and protects the little wasps when they hatch(some odd hormones are released, which confuse the larva's brain), only to be eaten later by these same little monsters.
